Inauguration of the new Nîmes tourist office in style on April 8!
Well done to Nimes Tourist Office and FERME 3D for producing the 1-meter-long crocodile, the city's emblem and logo, printed on one of our VOLUMIC Stream ULTRA in recyclable PETG from COREXTRUSION, then primed and painted in a striking red body paint.
An innovative 3D manufacturing process, for an equally impressive logo designed by Mr. Philippe STARCK La Ferme 3D developed the 3D additive manufacturing and post-processing process, in recyclable PETG material from COREXTRUSION, then primed and painted in a striking red body paint.
For the history of the logo, after the Egyptian campaign, some of Augustus' soldiers settled in Nîmes. Their victory was symbolized by a crocodile chained to a palm tree, a representation then used on coins minted in Nîmes, and much later (under François 1er) became the city's coat of arms and emblem.
The combination of palm tree and crocodile is reinterpreted by Philippe Starck. Present throughout the city, this illustration of ancient origin is sure to pique the curiosity of visitors...
